Over 4,000 people turned out for the annual Folsom Turkey Trot, yesterday, with 3,700 of them running or walking the 5K or 10K track.
The Turkey Trot, run by "Capitol Adventures" benefited the Twin Lakes Food Bank, and Never In Our Town youth scholarship. Todd Drybread, the Folsom Turkey Trot director, welcomed everyone. He and his team of enthusiastic volunteers made the whole event a great success.
The track was on the Folsom Parkway Trails, starting and ending near the corner of Blue Ravine and North Parkway Drive in Folsom.

The Twin Lakes Food Bank is a Christian based, non-profit organization that helps families in need with supplemental food and clothing. Whether disadvantaged by unexpected and troubled times, or a family living day-to-day in need, the Twin Lakes Food Bank has opened its heart to thousands of your neighbors since 1986.
The Twin Lakes Food Bank serves over 1,000 people (in Folsom, Orangevale and El Dorado Hills) each month - including 500-600 children - with a week's worth of nutritious food.

"Never In Our Town" Youth Assistance Fund
In 1988 the Folsom Athletic Association (FAA) created the Youth Assistance Fund. The purpose of the fund is to ensure that no child in Folsom is unable to participate in recreational programs due to financial hardship. The funds slogan "Never in Our Town," is the guiding philosophy of the fund. The principal of the trust fund will never be touched, only the interest will be used to provide scholarships for needy children.
