Gainesville, FL, November 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Spiderman S. Mulholland, a leading forensic expert on building envelope, water intrusion, toxic mold, and Chinese Drywall of U S Building Consultants, Inc. (USBCI), developed another national protocol for the construction industry for Chinese or other defective drywall. Mr. Mulholland, with the help of a workgroup called Defective Drywall in America (DDIA) and the Building Envelope Science Institute (BESI), have developed a cost effective protocol that helps homeowners and builders who have been devastated by the Chinese drywall disaster.

Mr. Mulholland has been in the remediation and the construction industry for over twenty years and has authored two other national certification programs. “In all my years in this business, it has never been an acceptable practice to leave tainted, contaminated, or dangerous products and materials in a home or building,” said Mulholland. A twelve industry workgroup that included lawyers, homeowners, realtors, bankers, manufacturers, toxicologist, scientist, chemist, developers, builders, doctors and forensic investigators were asked what they would need for a viable solution to the Chinese drywall crisis.

The results of the DDIA workgroup has produced protocols for inspection and remediation of Chinese or other defective drywall that results in a third-party quality control process that helps insure the success of remediation along with providing a pending national warranty program.

Defective Drywall in America workgroup, Building Envelope Science Institute and U S Building Consultants are presenting the certification for Chinese or other defective drywall in Gainesville, Florida on December 13-15, 2009 at the Best Western Gateway Grand. This program will certify inspectors, consultants, project managers, and remediation contractors. For more information, go to www.BESInstitute.org.
