MINNEAPOLIS - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today that North Shore Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Centers has selected its ProVation MD software for procedure documentation and coding, and its ProVation EHR electronic health record and patient charting solution. The software will be used at locations in Westlake and Garfield Heights, OH.

ProVation EHR is an electronic health record designed for busy, cost-conscious Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs). It offers robust electronic documentation and document imaging for all elements of the patient encounter, from past records to procedure documentation to follow-up care. With ProVation EHR, ASCs have affordable access to a single, patient-centric documentation system that eliminates printing and chart storage costs and streamlines workflow. ProVation MD, available for the full range of ASC specialties, replaces dictation and transcription and allows physicians to efficiently document procedures at the point of care. ProVation software produces complete, coding-ready and image-enhanced procedure notes that result in greater efficiency, increased profitability and clinician satisfaction.

North Shore Gastroenterology was established in 1990 as a partnership between Dr. Peter Greenwalt and Dr. Mousab Tabbaa, and its first endoscopy center opened in 1995. Shortly after partnering with Dr. Michael Springer, a second facility opened in 2002, and a third is slated to open in Sheffield village in 2010. The nine Board Certified physicians of North Shore Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Centers are recognized as leaders in the treatment of all digestive disorders and offer new techniques including Barrett's mucosa ablation, endoscopic ultrasound, and SpyGlass with electrohydrolic lithotripsy.

"ProVation has been long viewed by the GI community as the leader in documentation for endoscopy," said Mousab Tabbaa, M.D., President, North Shore Gastroenterology. "The software combines thorough documentation with ease of use and the ability to capture codes to facilitate billing."

"North Shore Gastroenterology & Endoscopy Centers are leaders in providing high-quality GI care," said Arvind Subramanian, President & CEO, Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical Solutions division. "We are extremely pleased that Dr. Tabbaa, Dr. Greenwalt, Dr. Springer and their team have chosen ProVation software to document, code and chart procedures at their facilities."
