Microbes on Your iPhone
WASHINGTON - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Want to get the latest microbiology news, podcasts and video content in
the palm of your hand? Now there is an app for that. A new application
from the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) allows users to access
and interact with audio and video content on MicrobeWorld, its award
winning multimedia website, directly from their iPhones and iPod Touches.
"If keeping up to date in microbiology news and information is important
to you, the MicrobeWorld app offers the most convenient way for you to
do so on the go, in your car, at the gym or even in the lab," says

The application features background play allowing users to access other
applications while listening to podcasts, downloadable wallpapers, the
ability to follow MicrobeWorld on Twitter and bonus audio and video
content. It also offers the ability to phone in and leave messages or
questions for a podcast host, a feature available only to iPhone users.
