Panasonic Introduces Incentive Programs for Its Toughbook H1 Mobile Clinical Assistant
SECAUCUS, N.J. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Panasonic Computer Solutions Company, manufacturer of durable, reliable
Panasonic Toughbook mobile computers, today announced an incentive
program allowing healthcare organizations to trade-in mobile clinical
assistant (MCA) devices that are not meeting their needs for $1000 off
the purchase of a new Panasonic Toughbook H1 MCA. In a separate offer,
Panasonic is also offering a free Universal Mounting Solution with the
purchase of a Toughbook H1. The H1 has redefined the MCA category by
addressing many deficiencies of early devices. The rugged H1 offers six
hour battery life, dual hotâswappable batteries, standard daylight
viewable screen and integrated Gobi technology in a sealed and
easily-sanitized package.
"Think of this as a 'Cash for Clunkers' program designed for the mobile
healthcare technology market," said Greg Davidson, healthcare senior
business development manager, Panasonic Computer Solutions Company.
"Healthcare organizations are excited about MCA technology, but have
told us they are disappointed with some of the initial products because
they did not meet the needs of the market from an ergonomics and
durability standpoint. The Toughbook H1 goes beyond the base level specs
needed to be considered an MCA device, which is why it looks and
performs differently from others on the market. Healthcare organizations
immediately noticed the benefits of our device because it was designed
with their involvement. This program makes the transition to the
Toughbook H1 a much more attractive proposition."
Panasonic is also offering a free Gamber-Johnson Universal Mounting
Solution with the purchase of a Toughbook H1 - a $350 value. The
free docking cradle allows healthcare professionals to take advantage of
the convenience and flexibility of mounting the Toughbook H1 device to a
mobile work station - also known as "carts on wheels" (COW). The device
swiftly snaps into the docking cradle providing immediate access to a
full-sized monitor and keyboard. Clinicians can easily un-dock the
Toughbook H1 from the cradle allowing them to bring the device to the
patient's bedside for an improved point-of-care experience.
The Toughbook H1 and Gamber-Johnson Computer Docking Cradle are highly
sanitizable.
Offers Mutually Exclusive
The two offers - $1,000 trade-in offer and the free mount with the
purchase of a Toughbook H1 - are mutually exclusive. Customers cannot
take advantage of both in the same purchase.
Limited Time Offers
Both the trade-in and Gamber-Johnson computer mount offers are good
through December 31, 2009. For more information contact your Panasonic
Toughbook reseller, or call Panasonic at 1-888-357-1311.
About the Toughbook H1
The Toughbook H1 was developed based on Panasonic's innovative
engineering, resulting from its own proprietary global healthcare
industry research and Intel's mobile clinical assistant (MCA) reference
design. The device improves workflow and eases clinical loads for
doctors and nurses, helping healthcare organizations maximize efficiency
and reduce errors.
With integrated RFID reader, 2.0 megapixel auto-focus camera with dual
LED lights, a barcode reader, contactless smart card reader and
fingerprint readers, the new Toughbook H1 is a secure and intuitive
platform for barcode medication administration (BCMA), vitals capture
and electronic medical records (EMR) capture and review.
The H1 offers a category-leading six hours of battery life, complemented
by dual hot-swappable batteries, allowing non-stop computing while on
the move. This virtually eliminates down time, maximizing return on
investment.
The Toughbook H1 has been designed for easy disinfection, reducing the
risk of germs being spread from patient to patient.
To meet the needs for mobility in both facilities and in-home health
environments, the H1 offers a range of embedded wireless options
including 802.11a/b/g/draft-n and Bluetooth 2.0. The device can also
ship with Qualcomm's new Gobi technology, simplifying
complex multi-carrier wireless deployments for IT departments. The H1
also comes with optional, next generation GPS technology allowing for
location awareness with improved accuracy, faster satellite acquisition
time and lower power consumption.
