InFocus Sponsors "Remote Viewing," an International Exhibition of Acclaimed Video Art
WILSONVILLE, Ore. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - InFocus Corp., the industry pioneer in digital projection technology,
today announced that it is a sponsor of "Remote Viewing: the Best of
Loop," an exhibition featuring some of the most cutting edge video art
coming out of Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia.
Premiering at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, Remote Viewing
showcases the work of more than 50 internationally recognized video
artists, few of which have ever been shown in the US.
Video art is now considered to be the fastest growing practice within
the contemporary art field, especially in Latin America and Europe, and
the Remote Viewing exhibition features a wide range of styles and
methods. InFocus digital projectors and flat panel displays are used
throughout the exhibition to display the works, which range from simple
"loop" projections, where a single image hangs on the wall, to videos
that vary in length and form.
Much of the work on display Nov. 19 through Feb. 5, 2010 has been
presented at the Loop Video Art Festival in Barcelona, one of the
largest and most prominent video art exhibitions in the world, which is
also sponsoring Remote Viewing. In addition to the video art exhibition,
the Remote Viewing program will include public events, and educational
tours and lectures to explore interests and issues driving this rapidly
growing art form.
"InFocus projection technology is making a huge difference in bringing
the largest display of European video art to the US in years," said Paul
Young, author, journalist and curator of Remote Viewing. "With the
proximity of the exhibition's premier location to the home of the movie
industry, it's paramount that we have sophisticated, high resolution
digital projectors for vibrant and engaging displays."
"InFocus is proud to partner with Paul Young to introduce more people to
the vibrant and growing video art form," said David Woolf, VP of
Marketing and Engineering at InFocus. "Video art is the perfect
complement to other digital content, such as movies, presentations and
video games, which people rely on InFocus for larger-than-life displays."
