LANCOM VPN client now available for Windows 7

      

Version 2.2 for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows environments

London, November 19, 2009—Networking specialists LANCOM Systems present version 2.2 of the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client, the world's first IPsec VPN software client to offer Windows 7 support. This client works with all current 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows. The advantage for businesses is clear: Even with heterogeneous infrastructures, companies can work with a single, universal client to manage remote access. The benefit: Lower costs for administrators, the user help desk, and on training.

Alongside the new multi-language support for English, German, French, Dutch and Polish – an interesting feature particularly for multinational companies – version 2.2 of the client brings further innovations, including: Export of profiles, additional hash algorithms, optimized LOG output for quicker troubleshooting, and the Tip of the Day for users to get the best from their client. Together with the updated Budget Manager they offer greater efficiency and improved security for remote access to enterprise resources.

The LANCOM Advanced VPN Client supports not only connections via wireless LAN, ISDN, analog and DSL modems; unlike standard IPsec and SSL VPN clients, it works over UMTS and GPRS connections as well.

The LANCOM Advanced VPN Client version 2.2 supports 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, and it is available at a price of EUR 99 plus VAT. A free 30-day demo version is available for download from the LANCOM Web site.

LANCOM customers who activated their current version or an upgrade to version 2.1 after July 01, 2009 can upgrade free of charge to version 2.2 of the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client.
