Company Named to List for Third Consecutive Year

Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload (LTL) freight carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced that it has been named to Inbound Logistics' Top 100 Motor Carrier list for the third consecutive year. The company was also recognized in 2007 and 2008. The full list can be found in the September issue of Inbound Logistics.

"In a down economy, business logistics leaders and transportation buyers appreciate motor freight carriers that are proactive, take the lead in offering suggestions, work to cut costs and maintain high on-time delivery and customer service levels. Con-way Freight qualified as an Inbound Logistics 2009 Top 100 Motor Carrier because they have shown consistent results in transforming customers' transportation networks," said Felecia Stratton, editor, Inbound Logistics.

Each year motor companies that want to be included on the Inbound Logistics list complete a survey questionnaire, which asks for information on services offered and geographies serviced, as well as opinions on topics such as increasing pricing pressures, shrinking capacity and greatest challenges. This year more than 300 companies participated in the survey.

"Being named to this list shows that Con-way Freight is consistently considered one of the top LTL carriers in the United States," said John G. Labrie, president, Con-way Freight. "Our employees' dedication to providing Con-way Freight customers with exception-free, better on-time service performance and faster transit times has resulted in this prestigious recognition. We congratulate and thank them for their efforts."

The Inbound Logistics editorial staff selected the Top 100 Motor Carriers by evaluating questionnaires, research and conducting personal interviews with shippers, trucking company executives, facility managers, drivers and others in the industry.
