The JCRC Thanks Governor O'Malley for Preserving Support for Marylanders Who Have Disabilities
ROCKVILLE, Md., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --On behalf of the Jewish Community of Greater Washington, we want to thank Governor O'Malley and the Board of Public Works for maintaining current funding levels for the disabled community in Maryland. We understand that Governor O'Malley has made very difficult decisions to reduce spending in Maryland and manage the national recession. Over the last three years, the Governor has reduced spending by more than $4.6 billion, but Governor O'Malley is to be commended for understanding the critical role that organizations like the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes play in our community in providing support and services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of Greater Washington is the public affairs and community relations arm of the Jewish community representing 210 Jewish organizations and synagogues throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia. The JCRC focuses on government relations, Israel advocacy, inter-group relations, and social justice.
