Highwoods Properties Leases 68,000 Square Feet to GSA
RALEIGH, N.C. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Highwoods Properties, Inc. (NYSE:HIW), the largest owner
and operator of suburban office properties in the Southeast and NAIOP's
2009 Developer of the Year, today announced that it has leased 68,000
square feet of office space for a 10-year term at the 105,000 square
foot Pamlico office building in Research Triangle Park to the General
Services Administration (GSA) for use by the Social Security
Administration. The lease commences immediately and increases Pamlico's
occupancy to 95.1%.

Inclusive of this lease, the GSA and other government agencies occupy
2.4 million square feet of space in seven markets, contributing 11.7% of
the Company's annualized revenues.
