Russian Energy Giant Gazprom Criticises EU for Not Heading Off Winter Gas Crisis

      

Russian energy giant Gazprom has criticised the European Union for not doing enough to head off another gas crisis this winter.

Russia and the Ukraine are natural allies and partners. As long as Russia is defining its relationship with the European Union, there are likely to be conflicts with the Ukraine.

I think that with time, potentially even after the upcoming elections in the Ukraine, relations between Russia and the Ukraine will improve dramatically. The crisis perhaps could serve as a catalyst for improving relations since the need to solve certain real economic problems in the Ukraine could trump politics meant for external and internal consumption.
