GeoDeck Composite Decking Posts Best-in-Class Results in Color Retention Testing
Independent Testing* Confirms GeoDeck Color Retention Results Outperform the Competition

Green Bay Decking, LLC, The Composite
Solutions Company, announced today that its flagship product, GeoDeck(TM)
composite decking, has posted the best results for composite decking color
retention and fade resistance in independent accelerated weather testing*.
The recent testing result is the latest in a series of top ratings against
the competition in key factors including resistance to decay and mechanical
strength and stiffness.

"Architects, contractors, and especially homeowners, expect composite
decking to not only maintain its mechanical properties over the life of the
product, but to also maintain its beauty, color, and finish," said Lanny
Jass, president, Green Bay Decking. "As proven again by independent testing
results, GeoDeck meets and exceeds these expectations better than
competitive composite decking products on the market."
Color retention and fade resistance are essential to a deck's long-term
contribution to a home's attractiveness, maintenance costs, and resell
value. Accelerated weather testing that is designed to simulate 2000 hours
of outdoor sun exposure demonstrated that GeoDeck retains its color better
than similar composite decking colors. Due, in part, to GeoDeck's patented
formula -- which contains no wood fillers -- GeoDeck's traditional mahogany
boards (Delta E 6.29) scored an average fade factor less than half of Trex
Accents Madeira (Delta E 12.70) and approximately one-third less than
similar Fiberon (Delta E 8.99) and Evergrain (Delta E 9.67) boards. Scores
greater than Delta E 7 are much more noticeable to the human eye versus
scores of Delta E 4-7, which may result in only slightly noticeable color
inconsistencies.
Not all composites are made the same. Architects, contractors, dealers, and
homeowners can feel confident and safe with GeoDeck composite decking for
many and varied uses in the commercial, marine, and residential industries.
*Independent testing was performed in October 2009 by Intertek Plastics
Technology Laboratories. Intertek PTL is accredited by American Association
for Laboratory Accreditation to ISO/IEC-17025:05, certificate #0619-01 to
nearly 150 tests.
