Military Patrol

Division General Ed Van Helvoirt needed to arrive at exactly 1700 hours to the Field Commander's meeting which was to be at battalion camp 121, just 2 km from the 38th parallel. He assigned Sergeant Dominic Gravelat to carry out the important mission of driving him safely to the meeting and choosing the most secure path through the mountains. He had to avoid at all cost, a face to face encounter with the enemy who could be hiding in this inhospitable area.

The only problem was that Sergeant Gravelat, without knowing, had sat on the GPS and completely destroyed it. Luckily he found a map in the glove compartment which should have saved them from the unfortunate predicament ... if it hadn't been in Korean. At 2300 hours, the 2 helicopters, the 3 jet fighters, and a commando of 50 GIs who had been sent out to search, had not found them yet.

The Good Old Days

The goal of Rom, Alex, Anto and Jo was to know Kathmandu. They wore long hair with lots of colorful ribbons and flowers. "Peace and Love" and "Flower Power" was their mantra and music was their passion. They bought an old camper from a junk yard and painted it with large, colorful flowers. They were seeking spiritual happiness far from materialistic and superficial society. They hit the road following their karma, direction Nepal. Two days after leaving, the engine broke, they discovered they had no more money and their supplies were gone.

They finally had to hitchhike home. The years went by, they got jobs, had kids, loans, worries and that time of carefree and total liberty, that neither the bald heads of some nor the sprouts of grey hair of others could have forgotten, was far behind them. In memory of their old spiritual quest, they decided to spend summer vacation redoing that famous canceled trip. But this time with the kids, they were a total of nine.

They booked a package tour with a flight to Bali, which wasn't quite Kathmandu, but still had the advantage of a great Club Med.

My First Love

When I saw its sensual curves, I immediately fell in love. The elegant air and incomparable way of moving made me lose my mind. It was love at first sight. This small beauty is and will always be my favorite car. The only problem is that when the whole family goes shopping we are a little cramped when we come home. The other day, coming back from grocery shopping, I had to ask the neighbor to help my wife get out of the car because she was stuck between the cans of tomatoes and the washing powder. And don't forget the mouth to mouth method we had to give my son and his sister as well, who had a jar of whipped cream on her head, we had to handle the spatula with care to lose as little as possible. Me, I didn't have any trouble, without really noticing I had sat on a stick of butter and just slipped out of the car with no problem.

The Family Outing

It was the first time that Papa had managed to save enough money to take the entire family on vacation. We only had one suitcase, made of aluminum, very nice, even if it was too small for everything that there was to carry. We filled up two huge boxes and put them on the roof racks. Mom, on her side, rolled up two blankets and made with some old sheets three enormous balls of clothes. But there was something which we could not have forgotten for anything in the world: the fishing rods! And just like that, we were ready for the big trip. Coronda, the town where Aunt Celia lived, was only 100 km away, but for us it was major expedition.

All the new pieces are available for reservation, as holiday gifts.
