During a Veterans Day wreath-laying ceremony, civic leaders placed a wreath next to the Veterans Memorial Parkway sign located at U.S. Route 31 in Columbus, Ind. Members of the Columbus, Ind., chapter of the Elks Club held a brief ceremony dedicated to veterans next to the sign. Guest speaker Col. Steven Merkel, commander of the 205th Infantry Brigade, Camp Atterbury, thanked the civic leaders for honoring past and present servicemembers.
