Electors Can Register at the Polls
Unregistered electors can still register and vote at their polling station on election day
Most electors in Cumberland-Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley (Nova Scotia), Hochelaga (Quebec), Montmagny-L'Islet-Kamouraska-Riviere-du-Loup (Quebec) and New Westminster-Coquitlam (British Columbia) are already on the list of electors for the federal by-elections of November 9, 2009.
- On election day, an elector who is still not on the list can present authorized identification and register at the assigned polling station for his or her address.
- An elector without identification may register and vote under oath, if vouched for by another elector in the same polling division who has the necessary identification.
- Electors can find out where to register and vote at www.elections.ca or by calling 1-800-463-6868.
Elections Canada is an independent body set up by Parliament.
