Thousands Gather to Stop Obamacare
WASHINGTON - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Today thousands of grassroots activists from around the country will
descend on the West Lawn of the Capitol to make a House Call to
Congress' back door. FreedomWorks is pleased to participate in this
event taking place nearly two months after the historic gathering on the
West Lawn on September 12. This event will build on the momentum gained
in this week's important elections, and will shift the focus to
healthcare once again.
At 12pm, FreedomWorks activists will join with citizen activists of
other organizations to support champions of reform and small government
conservatism, and in opposition to the healthcare power grab currently
occurring in Congress. Speakers at the West Lawn gathering will include
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), political commentator Mark Levin, and
FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe.
After gathering on the West Lawn, activists will take the message
directly to their Congressmen as they visit members' offices. Armed with
lists of undecided House members to target, the activists will voice
their concerns to a Congress that until now hasn't listened.
"Congress needs to start listening to the people when it comes to
healthcare reform," said Matt Kibbe, President of FreedomWorks. "The
more people learn about the bill, the less they like it. Congress needs
to focus on proposals that will lower costs and increase access, not
those that increase the government's role in the process."
