Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards Winners Announced
TYSONS CORNER, Va. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Winners of the 7th Annual Greater Washington Government Contractor
Awards (GWGCA) were announced last night at an awards gala some have
dubbed the "Academy Awards of government contracting." Seven
Washington-area government contracting industry firms and executives and
one federal civil servant were recognized by their peers as winners of
the awards, which recognize exceptional innovation, dedication and
commitment to excellence. The awards were presented in partnership by
the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce's Greater Washington GovCon
Council, the Professional Services Council and Washington Technology
magazine.
Senator John Warner was also honored with a special Leadership Award for
his extraordinary leadership, unyielding commitment to and
accomplishments in transforming government on behalf of the American
people. In addition, Al Nashman, former CSC executive, was inducted into
the Greater Washington Government Contractor Hall of Fame. Nashman was
awarded this honor for his professional excellence, consistent track
record of growth and success and his history of extraordinary personal
contributions to his community, company and industry.
Awards were presented to companies at four revenue levels; to chief
executives at three revenue levels; and to one public sector partner
whose achievements were exceptionally distinguished.
"There are few greater tributes than to be saluted by one's own peers
for outstanding performance," said Fairfax County Chamber Chairman Stu
Mendelsohn, Partner, Holland & Knight. "And these individuals and firms
are truly doing outstanding work in this vital sector of our business
community."
Stan Soloway, President and CEO of the Professional Services Council
said the awards represent something very special. "At a time when our
government faces almost unprecedented challenges, these awards really
recognize those who have built a partnership that is critical to our
collective ability to meet those daunting challenges."
