PrePass: Trucker's Best Friend Just Got a Whole Lot Better
New Product Suite Targets Fleet Efficiency and Air Quality/Highway Safety Improvement Throughout Trucker's Day

PrePass® isn't just
weigh stations anymore. A new suite of products doubles the number of
services and bolsters a commitment to safety and air quality with offerings
that enhance truck fleet operations and save carriers money.
"PrePass is one of the top driver benefits according to truck driver
surveys," said Richard P. Landis, president and CEO of the public-private
partnership that offers the weigh station bypass service. "We anticipate
our new suite
of services will be equally as important to industry cost-savings and
efficiency, while also delivering solid safety and air quality benefits to
government and the motoring public."

PrePass is a sophisticated system
that enables motor carriers to electronically comply with weight, safety
and credential requirements in more than 280 locations in 29 states.
PrePass Plus enables motor carriers to pay their E-ZPass® tolls
electronically using the same transponder. By avoiding weigh station and
toll booth stops and idling in queues, trucks save time, reduce fuel
consumption and contribute to a cleaner and safer transportation system.
The new suite of PrePass services includes three value-adding services:
-- Ground Traffic Control(TM)-- a powerful web-based data management
application that enables carriers to bolster the safety of their fleets,
while delivering new operating efficiencies that save money and reduce fuel
consumption and related emissions.
-- eLogs -- the fastest log scanning and auditing service available
to help carriers ensure safety and provide comprehensive and efficient log
auditing solutions at the lowest cost.
-- Gates -- a fully-integrated gate control access and management
system that lets drivers enter and exit terminals using their PrePass
transponder and without the unnecessary delay, idling and emissions
resulting from manual systems.
"Taken together, the PrePass service suite addresses motor carrier safety
and efficiency at 12
critical points in a trucker's day including before the trip;
on-the-road; and after the trip," added Landis. "We're confident these new
services will improve the productivity of both the states and the
industry."
