Elvis Stojko Announces the Release of His First Music Single
Elvis Stojko, seven-time Canadian Figure Skating
Champion and two-time Olympic Figure Skating Silver Medalist, announces
today that he is officially releasing the first single from his upcoming
new album. The single is titled "Let Me Be the One," and will be released
to Canadian radio stations today. The album, titled 100 Lifetimes, will be
released later this fall.
This release represents the result of several years of work in the studio
for Stojko. While on a hiatus from professional skating over the last
several years, Stojko chose to pursue other artistic avenues. Stojko's
father was a professionally trained tenor. Music and singing have been an
integral part of his life. The release of 100 Lifetimes marks the beginning
of Stojko's professional music career, and it coincides with his recent
return to the ranks of professional skating.
The album has been produced by Mark Lalama. One of Canada's most recognized
musicians, Lalama's performance and/or production credits include; Mariah
Carey, Martina McBride, Amy Sky, Marc Jordan, Christopher Ward, David
Tyson, Olivia Newton John, CTV's Canadian Idol, and CBS' The Bridge,
amongst others.
The songs of 100 Lifetimes will be featured as part of a musical figure
skating experience titled "Rock the Ice" to be held on January 3, 2010 in
Peterborough, ON at the Peterborough Memorial Centre. Tickets are on sale
now and can be purchased by contacting the Memorial Centre box office.
