CORRECTION FROM SOURCE/Veterans' Week-November 5 to 11: How Will You Remember?

OTTAWA, ONTARIO - (Marketwire - Nov. 4, 2009) -

A correction from source is being issued with respect to the release sent out today at 3:58 PM EST. The corrected version follows.

This Veterans' Week, November 5 to 11, Canadians across the country will join together to show how they remember and honour our Veterans. As this important week starts Thursday, the Honourable Greg Thompson, Minister of Veterans Affairs, is encouraging all Canadians to think about how they will remember this Veterans' Week.

"We are reminded of the achievements and sacrifices of our Veterans every day. But during Veterans' Week, we take remembrance one step further. We show our appreciation for their service which has made this world a safer place," said Minister Thompson at the Candlelight Tribute on Monday at Landsdowne Park in Ottawa. "We must never forget the great debt we owe to those who have served our country-and those who serve today."

Minister Thompson will participate in various commemorative events including the Senate Ceremony in the Senate Chamber on November 6 and the National Remembrance Day Ceremony at the National War Memorial on November 11. Many remembrance events are taking place across the country during Veterans' Week. Canadians can search for events in their communities on the interactive Calendar of Events at www.vac-acc.gc.ca.

Canadians are encouraged to share how they remember by posting on Veterans Affairs Canada's Web site or joining the Veterans' Week Facebook fan page or YouTube channel. This Veterans' Week, how will you remember? Learn more at www.vac-acc.gc.ca.
