Maricopa County Residents Can Apply for Free Home Makeover Offered by Stardust Building Supplies' Angels On Call

PHOENIX - (BUSINESS WIRE) - For the third year in a row, Angels On Call (AOC) (http://www.angelsoncall.org), a community service program provided by Stardust Building Supplies (http://www.stardustbuilding.org), is offering a complete home makeover to a Valley homeowner in need, at no cost to the homeowner.

Stardust Building Supplies is an Phoenix-based non-profit organization with two discount building materials warehouses in the Phoenix area, accepting tax-deductible donations of new and gently used building materials and supplies from businesses and individuals, which are then sold to the public for up to 80% off regular price. Angels On Call's mission is to provide no-cost home repairs to low- and fixed-income homeowners in desperate need of basic home repairs. Working with volunteer labor and donated building materials, AOC partners with other non-profit groups to find homeowners in the greatest need.

WHAT:

For the third year in a row, AOC is offering a complete home makeover to a Valley homeowner in need, at no cost to the homeowner.

Last year, AOC provided a complete home makeover to a Phoenix homeowner, worth over $80,000 in materials and labor. The homeowner received new electrical and plumbing systems; a complete kitchen remodel including cabinets, countertops and appliances; complete bathroom remodel, furniture and more.

Angels On Call is inviting eligible homeowners to complete and submit an application for a home makeover.

The program is open to individuals who:

• own their own home;
• meet current Federal Poverty Guidelines (outlined in the application);
• are legal residents of Maricopa County; and
• are at least 18 years of age or older.

Applications are due by NOON on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2009.

The home makeover recipient will be announced on DECEMBER 31, 2009.

The home remodeling project will take place in February 2010 and be "revealed" to the homeowner in late February (date to be announced.)
