Despite Her Blindness, She Had No Time for Fears or Tears -- A Story About a Young Girl Who Bravely Faced Her Disability to be Featured at the 2010 London Book Fair

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla., Nov. 3, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- She is a fun-loving girl with a beautiful heart and a determined spirit. She is also blind. Author Deloras Davis introduces readers to Lisa, a visually impaired girl whose story awaits readers in No Time For Fears or Tears. In this beguiling picture book, readers will witness how Lisa faces life despite her disability.

Lisa Meecham enjoyed life's simple pleasures-until a traumatic bicycle accident blinded her. Contrast to what was expected, she wholeheartedly accepted her tragic fate and struggled to cope with her affliction during the next four years. With the help of her loving parents, a blind neighbor, and her intense love for the horses of her father's farm, Lisa was still able to see the beauty of life.

A few years after the accident, Lisa was invited to attend a summer camp for visually impaired children. There, she used her experiences to inspire other children, teaching them how to handle their physical and emotional problems. However, a terrible catastrophe was in store for Lisa and her best friend. Can they survive? The outcome awaits readers.

Davis invites everyone to accompany Lisa and her friends in their fun experiences shared at the camp. A story of determination and hope, No Time for Fears or Tears will surely warm and touch the hearts of its readers.

This book will be featured at the 2010 London Book Fair in London, England on April 19-21, 2010. For more information, log on to www.Xlibris.com.

In order to thoroughly appreciate, understand and research the reactions of the blind children, the counselors, the workers, etc., at the camp, Deloras attended the camp in Alabama for several days and participated in every activity, games, meals, water skiing, horseback riding, etc. blindfolded so that she could really get the feel of how these children related to their blindness or near blindness. She says that this was one of the most memorable and greatest times of her life for she really learned to appreciate what sightless and vision impaired children have to deal with. What a treasure to carry through life knowing that in some small way, she was able to provide an insight for others to see and read about in her delightful story. Please enjoy!!!
