TROOPS NEED YOU: HOMEFRONT

While we are continuing our efforts overseas, we are excited to announce that Troops Need You is expanding - to the homefront. By applying the same motto - "Listen, then Deliver," we can serve our healing warriors, many of whom continue to sacrifice daily. We have already begun our mission here at home, and the response has been tremendous. One infantryman who remains at Walter Reed after leaving two legs on the battlefield of Mosul, Iraq, said:

"It means a lot that someone cares enough to ask me what I want, and then give it to me, because sometimes we feel forgotten here by the public."

We want to show our troops who have returned home that we honor their service and appreciate their sacrifice. Through Troops Need You's homefront outreach, we can show them they are not forgotten.

Upcoming drives, such as our Veterans Day and Christmas outreaches, will focus on reaching out to the warriors who have returned to us. Stay tuned for upcoming emails on volunteer opportunities and ways to bring Troops Need You to your community.

ABOUT TROOPS NEED YOU

Our vision is to continue the uniquely American wartime tradition of mobilizing citizens in direct support of our troops. This is our history, from merchants supplying General Washington's army during the Revolutionary War to the war bond drives of World War II. Now, it is our time to mobilize and help our troops succeed.

The mission of Troops Need You is two-fold: to LISTEN and DELIVER.

War Front: Soldiers and Marines need specific supplies to influence others to provide the intelligence needed to find and defeat terrorists. So Troops Need You listens to our troops and then delivers, from medical and school supplies to sports league equipment and specialized gun cleaning kits.
Home Front: Soldiers and Marines who have served and sacrificed now have a new, more personal mission: healing. America must remember our healing warriors, so Troops Need You listens, and then delivers what they need, from new furniture and car repairs to education tools and recreation equipment.

ABOUT MAJOR ERIC EGLAND
While serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, Major Eric Egland saw unresponsive bureaucracies leave our troops without needed resources. In response, he authored The Troops Need You, America! and founded Troops Need You to enable average Americans to directly support mission success.

Major Egland is well-positioned to advance the Troops Need You strategy in Washington, given his national security expertise, including experience in dozens of countries around the globe in counter-terrorism, insurgency, narcotics trafficking and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. He is a career intelligence officer who holds a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the National Defense Intelligence College and is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Eric runs Troops Need You with his wife, Ania, who grew up under communism in Poland and believes deeply in America's unique role in protecting freedom. They have three young children, Noah, Daniel and Grace.
