HealthPartners is Highest Rated Minnesota Health Plan in Overall Consumer Experience
MINNEAPOLIS - (BUSINESS WIRE) - HealthPartners has the highest overall member rating of any health plan
in Minnesota as well as the highest rating in many individual measures
of consumer experience, according to an independent survey. The Consumer
Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) 2009 survey asks
consumers 42 questions about their experiences in key areas from ease of
access to care, to how well doctors and nurses listen, to how quickly
claims are processed.
In addition to receiving the highest overall member rating for Minnesota
health plans, HealthPartners also:
-
Rated first among Minnesota plans in experience ratings of
personal doctors and customer service (ranking in the 90th
percentile nationally in each of these categories) as well as claims
processing and consumers' ability to get care quickly.
-
Earned a 94 percent rating for experience with doctor
communication and a 92 percent rating for ease of getting care,
tests and treatment.
-
Earned improved ratings for decision support, with results
above the national average.
"All consumers deserve and should expect a great health care
experience," said Scott Aebischer, senior vice president of customer
service and product innovation, HealthPartners. "The CAHPS survey gives
them important information to help them choose a health plan as it helps
us to continually improve and refine the experience we deliver every
day."
The CAHPS program is a public-private initiative to develop standardized
surveys of patients' experiences with ambulatory and facility-level
care. It is funded and administered by the Agency for Healthcare
Research and Quality (AHRQ). More information about CAHPS is available
online at www.cahps.ahrq.gov.
