"The Robot" Keeps Going
13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) Public Affairs
CAMP LIBERTY, Iraq - At the East Liberty Supply Support Activity yard there are several hard workers. But there is one many say stands above the rest. Sergeant 1st Class Michael Sperry, noncommissioned officer in charge of the night shift, spends countless hours at the SSA. Born and raised in Helena, Mont., Sperry comes to the 639th CSSC as a volunteer from 95th Troop Command. Sperry always comes in early before his shift begins to see what the day shift has left for him and his crew, whether it be Air Force pallets or several multipacks to process, or on some nights both.

On some occasions they receive a container or two. No matter what the night has in store, Sperry and his crew are always ready. As night turns to day, and the shift comes to an end, several of his crew head back to their rooms, but there stands Sperry, still going strong getting the customer lanes squared away. As day shift is a couple hours in to their shift once again there he is still hard charging. He does this day in and day out. To most people he is known as Sgt. 1st Class Michael Sperry to us here at the SSA he is known as "The Robot."
