TAKE ACTION: Stop Attack on the Clean Air Act
An attack on the Clean Air Act is in full swing this week,
undermining Senate hearings on the Clean Energy Jobs and
American Power Act (S. 1733), a plan to fight global warming.
Unlike its House counterpart, the Senate bill preserves key
tools from the Clean Air Act, a law with a proven track record
for reducing pollution from the dirtiest sources. But polluters
want to use climate legislation as an excuse to repeal the Clean
Air Act where greenhouse gases are concerned.
To ward off these attempts to weaken the Senate bill, Sen.
Robert Menendez (D-NJ) is rallying his colleagues to ensure
Clean Air Act limits on greenhouse gas emissions from existing
coal fired power plants remain in the bill. Tell your senator to
join Sen. Menendez in this effort today.
