Carey Mulligan's Disbelieving Parents
Carey Mulligan's parents thought she was lying about working with Dame Judi Dench.
The British actress - who first found fame when she starred alongside the legendary actress, Keira Knightley and Rupert Friend in 2005's 'Pride and Prejudice' - struggled to convince her parents she would be working with famous co-stars.
She told Britain's The Times newspaper: "I told them, 'So, I'm going to be in this film with Judi Dench,' and they thought I'd made the whole thing up."
When she first started out as an actress, Carey - who has most recently appeared in Nick Hornby's 'An Education' with Peter Sarsgaard - felt she needed a certificate to prove to others she was good enough to work with them.

She explained: "You feel like you should have a piece of paper that says you're allowed to do it. The thing that was most challenging to play was that kind of uber-enthusiasm I had to have with Jenny, while everyone else is being cool and laid-back, and you're going mental.
"I lean towards tragic characters more. I usually isolate myself, go off into corners and think terribly hard about what I'm doing. On this, I was just whizzing around. I loved it."
