New Book Redefines The Laws of Supply and Demand
The Supply and Demand Paradox: A Treatise on Economics by Byron Fisher
The Supply and Demand Paradox: A Treatise on Economics addresses two fundamental questions within the field of economics:
1. Will a consumer demand a good or service simply because a producer supplies it?
2. Will a producer supply a good or service simply because a consumer demands it?
Byron Fisher, an economics scholar and U.S. Army Officer currently serving in western Iraq, fully answers both questions in presenting a theory that he has developed - known as the Supply and Demand Paradox (SDP). With logical and straightforward explanations, he clarifies exactly why the supply of a particular product or service cannot in and of itself generate demand. In stark contrast, demand for any product or service - whether illicit or not - will always generate supply, as it spurs one or more business organizations to satisfy that demand in the pursuit of profits. Fisher's treatise represents the most dynamic contribution to economic theory in over 100 years.
"Not since the publication of Alfred Marshall's Principles of Economics in 1890 has such a significant theory relating to the concept of supply and demand been established," says Fisher. "My unique new theory is applied to a host of fields, including evolutionary biology, political science, and the origin of financial markets. People interested in economics, free markets, and the powerful influences of supply and demand will find this book well worth reading."
The Supply and Demand Paradox: A Treatise on Economics touches on timely and important themes such as:
What is new about supply and demand in relation to previous theories
Fundamentals of economics we should all know and understand
The market for laws and public policy
Evolution "how it relates to economics"
Creation of demand for an unknown/new product
Supply and demand are assumed to be equal market forces, but they are not, Fisher says.
"If supply and demand were equal, then the responses of rational producers and rational consumers would be alike. Rational Producers will sell an item just because it is being demanded. However, rational consumers will not buy an item just because it is for sale."
