Certified Management of Hawai'i Provides Management Services to Grove Farm in Kaua'i

KAUA'I, Hawaii, Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Certified Management, an Associa Company, in Kaua'i, HI recently took over management of the Grove Farm subsidiary, Puhi Sewer & Water Co., in addition to its Commercial Village and Village West leases and the company's agricultural rentals. Grove Farm is one of the largest land owners of Kaua'i and is dedicated to preserving the island's culture and historical attributes.

Puhi Sewer & Water Co., Inc. is a subsidiary of Grove Farm and provides wastewater treatment services to areas of Puhi and Lihue. Certified Management will be responsible for the accounting services such as billing and collections of fees from owners, preparing the financial statements and assisting with the annual budget preparation.

The Kukui Grove Commercial Village was developed by Grove Farm in 1983, and covers 16 acres located on the Lihue town side of Kukui Grove Shopping Center. Commercial Village encompasses a variety of fast-food operators, office buildings, a movie theater, financial institutions, medical offices, auto parts store and a fuel station. The majority of the commercial lots are under long-term ground leases, however, the leased fee interest in several lots have been sold over the years.

Village West was created in 1989 as a 54-acre multi-use site to include retail, commercial and recreational opportunities. Village west is home to several cultural organizations such as Kaua'i Children's Discovery Museum and the Kaua'i International Theater. The complex also has a large selection of retail shops and restaurants.

Grove Farm

Steve Case, co-founder, chairman and CEO of America Online, Inc. (AOL), purchased Grove Farm in December 2000. A year after Case bought the company, he expanded its holdings to some 40,000 acres, making it one of the largest landholders on Kaua'i. In its transition from a sugar plantation to a sustainable community development and economic development firm, Grove Farm continues to maintain its keen focus and commitment to Kaua'i. Grove Farm was recently honored with the prestigious GE ecomagination Leadership Award.
