Hypocrisy: NFL Bidder Caves to Sharpton and Jackson, Dumps Rush Limbaugh
Dear NewsBlaze Editor,
Hypocrisy appears to have a front seat in our new America. A professional sports group bidding to purchase the struggling St. Louis Rams NFL franchise has announced it is dumping popular talk radio commentator Rush Limbaugh along with the large financial capital he would have brought.
This surprise news came after a series of high profile, sometimes baseless remarks about Limbaugh by controversial activists Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Citing a remark Mr. Limbaugh made several years ago about the staus of a particular black quarterback and what role race might have played, they both went on a seemingly nonstop salvo of often personal attacks.
The disturbing thing here is the hypocracy at work. One set of rules for conservatives and an often free pass for liberals, it might seem.
Case in point: In an interview with Washington Post reporter Milton Coleman a while ago, Rev. Jackson fired off some disturbing anti-Semetic slurs at then New York Mayor Ed Koch who happens to be Jewish.
Refering to some comments by the Mayor, Jackson said, "that's all that Hymie wants to talk about is Israel - every time you go to 'Hymietown' (New York) that's all 'they' want to talk about."
Jackson was still involved in paying off his mistress who bore him a child out of an extramarital affair which took place while he was "counseling" Bill Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
Meanwhile Reverend Al Sharpton has made a veritable plethora of racially incindiary public remarks including his speech to Kean College in 1994 where he said "White folks (were) in caves while we (were) building empires" and how "we taught philosophy and mathematics before Socrates and them - 'Greek Homo's' - ever got around to it."
Is this playing the race card to the hilt or what? I for one will spend my hard earned money somewhere other than future NFL events.
