Baseball Fan's Urgent Plea: Send Global Warming to Denver!

By John Lillpop

October in the Rocky Mountains is usually perfect for the excitement and thrills that accompany post-season major league baseball. Much to the delight of Denver residents, the Colorado Rockies have obliged their fans by being legitimate contenders for the World Series.

After splitting the first two games of their playoff series with the Phillies of Philadelphia in the City of Brotherly Love, the teams headed to Denver where Game 3 was scheduled to be played Saturday afternoon.

Given the fact that we are not even at mid-October, and considering the impact of global warming on all creatures large and small, the Phillies-Rockies match at Mile High Stadium should have been played without any interference from Mother Nature.

However, as reported at Yahoo.news, in part, Mother Nature had other ideas:

"The snow in Colorado scrapped plans for Pedro Martinez's first post season start in five years. Game 3 of the Philadelphia-Colorado playoff series was postponed a day because of weather Saturday better suited for cross country skiing.

"The Phillies holed up in their hotel Saturday with no plans of working out at the ballpark. The Rockies summoned their players for a 90-minute workout inside Coors Field.

"We just want to keep ourselves on somewhat of a schedule," manager Jim Tracy said.

"Tracy suspected this might not be a night for baseball when even his dogs wanted to skip their morning walk."

There you go: Even Jim Tracy's dogs recognize that global warming is a lot of hot air coming from the mouths of misinformed liberals!
