"El Momento Decisivo/The Turning Point" was created in partnership between the Miami-Dade County Department of Health, Miami-Dade College, and Miguel Ferro, the campaign's producer and executive producer of Maria Elvira Live. The campaign contains powerful images and videos that will leave a lasting impact on the Hispanic community about the importance of safe sex.

The objective of this campaign is to create awareness of the consequences of not taking the proper precautions to protect against HIV. The campaign contains five short dramatizations of moments where everyday people including heterosexuals, homosexuals, bi-sexuals, young adults and the elderly, are caught in situations in which certain choices could change their lives forever. The campaign focuses on those few seconds where everything can be at risk if the wrong the decision is made. Paulina Rubio will deliver a message to emphasize the importance of making the right choice in such a crucial moment and not just leaving it up fate, thus the title of the project.
