Former Baseball Star Accepts Boxing Challenge

Todd Poulton opened his mouth, and now Jose Canseco is ready to shut it for him.

Former baseball slugger with the bat Canseco is now a slugger with his fists, and he has another Celebrity Boxing Federation (CBF) match scheduled to prove his mettle.

Canseco will take on Pittsfield, MA native Poulton on Friday, November 6 at the Sheraton Springfield Monarch Place Hotel as the headline bout of Celebrity Boxing 13: David vs. Goliath.

"He (Poulton) started flapping his gums at another match and wanted a piece of me," Canseco said of the upcoming fight with Poulton, who's a CBF veteran and someone who's battled OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) most of his adult life. "So I granted his wish. Be careful of what you wish for, though," Canseco added, grinning.

No doubt the bad blood between Canseco and Poulton will be on display once again on Tuesday, October 6, when a press conference will be held promoting the fight at 1:00 p.m., at the same hotel as where the match will take place.

In CBF circles, Canseco is perhaps best remembered for going toe-to-toe with actor, radio personality, and Reality TV star Danny Bonaduce earlier in 2009-a match that is still talked about.

"I'm eager and excited to take care of Mr. Poulton, once and for all," Canseco said of the November 6 bout.
