Myriad Appoints Former Nokia Chief Technologist Benoit Schillings as Chief Technical Officer

DUEBENDORF-ZURICH, Switzerland - September 22nd, 2009 - Myriad Group AG (SIX Swiss Exchange: MYRN), a global leader in mobile technology with software in over 2 billion phones, today announced the appointment of Benoit Schillings as Chief Technical Officer (CTO), effective October 1st. As an industry heavyweight, Schillings brings his unique experience combining deep industry knowledge and a rare ability to harness innovation for commercial gain. His primary responsibilities will be to lead Myriad's technology strategy and focus on the company's drive for innovation.

Prior to joining Myriad, Schillings held the position of Chief Technologist at Nokia. In this role he was responsible for Nokia's cross-device technology, and was Technology Advisor to Nokia's CEO, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo.  Schillings joined Nokia following their acquisition of Trolltech, where he was also CTO. Schillings is probably best known across the industry for his innovative work on the Be Operating System, and as CTO at Openwave where he led the development strategy for its mobile software portfolio, including Openwave Phone Suite Version 7.

Schillings was a principal contributor to the launch of Be Incorporated, where he designed, developed and implemented the technically acclaimed Be Operating System. As CTO at Openwave Systems, he was responsible for the structure, and design of Openwave Phone Suite Version 7. In 2003, he was named Distinguished Engineer by Openwave for his influential work in the conception of "top to bottom" integrated software for mass-market phones. Schillings is a graduate of Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium.
