Phone Chat Line Predator Caught

It took a year to entice his victim, but on Thursday, investigators say Michael Jagade Barron, 25 of Rosemont was arrested on a variety of sex related charges.

It began Wednesday when a patrol officer received a report that a female under the age of 15 had admitted to having had a non-consensual sexual encounter with a 25 year old man.

The juvenile told the investigating officer she had met Barron on a social telephone chat line (party line). The conversations continued for nearly a year over party lines and social media websites before Barron convinced the juvenile they should meet in person.

Barron met with the juvenile twice this summer, with both encounters resulting in crimes sexual in nature. Investigators interviewed Barron who admitted to having inappropriate, illegal relations with the minor child.

Barron is currently being held at the Sacramento County Jail in lieu of $510,000 bail. His charges include enhancements for being more than 10 years older than his victim, and communicating with a minor child with the intent to commit a sexual offense.
