TNT Gains More "Leverage"
By Garrett Godwin
Mr. Ford and his people will stay open for revenge, as TNT has renewed Leverage for a third season Thursday. The series stars Academy Award winner Timothy Hutton as an ex-insurance man who masterminds a team of highly-skilled criminals, as they take on corrupt, corporate America. As Leverage Consulting & Associates, they seek restitution and vindication on behalf of their clients: honest, hardworking, everyday people the system failed to get justice for.
This renewal came off at the heels after recent news weeks ago that TNT added two more episodes of Leverage's summer run, as the series overcame the infamous sophomore slump with strong ratings thanks to character-driven storylines mixed with action, comedy, suspense, and drama. As you recently know, Jeri Ryan will join Leverage Consulting & Associates on a recurring basis in the role of a fellow conwoman and a friend of Sophie's, as portrayer Gina Bellman goes on maternity leave for the birth of her first child.
Leverage concludes its summer run in early September, and will finish season two with new episodes in winter 2010; the show airs Wednesday nights at 9pm on TNT.
