First Residential Installation of Reclaimed Wyoming Snowfence Flooring Featured in Colorado Home

Leading Ski Country Builder Features Centennial Woods Flooring, Siding, and Trim Products in Glenwood Springs Custom Home

Centennial Woods announced today that the first private installation of its flooring product has occurred in a 5,000 square foot custom home located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. J & J Framing Inc., which regularly builds large custom homes in the Aspen area, featured reclaimed snowfence tongue and groove flooring installed over a radiant heating system throughout the project.

"I was initially concerned that the flooring would be too rustic for this area, but it turned out to be the showpiece of the home," said Justin Seymour, principal of J & J Framing. "I'm pretty pleased with it."

"This home is a good example of what a creative builder can achieve with our products," said Grant Porder, product manager at Centennial Woods. "Their naturally occurring red, blue and yellow patinas can be installed in a beautiful random configuration, as Justin has done, or sorted by a builder to provide deliberate color designs in the floor."

"The moisture content of the flooring is so low that I wasn't concerned about long acclimatization of the wood prior to installation, or future movement of the floor over the radiant heat, like I would have worried about for a hard wood floor," said Seymour.

The company's flooring products are expertly milled and easy to install. J & J used one coat of stain and three coats of polyurethane to finish the floor in order to get the desired look.

The home also features reclaimed snowfence siding in a vertical, butted configuration, combined with a rusty corrugated metal wainscoting, to achieve a mountain home look with modern clean lines. Inside, the hand-textured walls are trimmed with grey reclaimed snowfence casing and base.

Centennial Woods' products are naturally rough and weathered but also can be purchased in milled and modern configurations. The company sells exterior products including siding and soffit and interior products like floors, ceilings, trim and wainscoting. The unique wood is also increasingly used for furniture, doors, window trimming, cabinets and other specialty applications. The wood comes in five basic natural color schemes, in 1x6, 2x6, and 2x8 dimensions and in lengths up to 16 feet.
