An exciting juried fine art show will debut in downtown Baltimore on August 22-23, 2009. The festival will encompass two locations in downtown; one at the Power Plant along the Inner Harbor near the National Aquarium on Pratt Street and the other at Power Plant Live at Market Place and Water Street, just two blocks north of the Inner Harbor.

This two-day event brings together an eclectic mix of the nation's most talented artists, as well as leading local and regional artists, who will collectively display over $15 million in artwork including paintings, sculpture, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, collage and ceramics. The artists will line the waterfront at Inner Harbor with their professional display booths, transforming into a first-class outdoor art gallery. The public can meet and talk with the artists personally, asking questions about their art and inspiration.

"Baltimore deserves a top-rate art festival and we're looking forward to bringing a local contingency of artists, as well as a troupe of artists from around the country that have never exhibited in the greater Baltimore area before," comments Howard Alan.

"This festival will help to highlight and celebrate one of the most exciting downtowns in the country," said Sal Di Giorgio, property manager of The Power Plant at the Inner Harbor. "The event provides our guests another dimension of the Inner Harbor with the opportunity to view fine art in a fun and family friendly setting."

"The Inner Harbor Art Festival celebrates the diverse arts and culture that characterize the city of Baltimore," said Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon. "The festival showcases many of our talented local artists as well as others from across the nation drawn to our dynamic and vibrant community."

Inner Harbor Art Festival in Baltimore, Maryland makes the arts accessible to a broad audience. Prices range from $25 hand-designed earrings to $20,000 metal sculptures. The event appeals to family and friends as a free and fun weekend activity, as well as serious art buyers looking to add to their collections.
