No Reason to Worry About Swine Flu: Kashmir Minister

Srinagar, Aug 20: The Health minister of Kashmir Sham Lal Sharma Thursday said there was no reason to worry about the Swine Flu virus in the restive region.
The minister inspected the Health Surveillance Centre set up by the Health Department to monitor the Swine Flu cases at Sanat Nagar here and took stock of the facilities available there. He went round the Isolation Ward, collection room and OPD rooms and took stock of the arrangements and facilities created to swiftly act to attend the suspected cases.
Interacting with the media persons, the Minister maintained that things are totally under control and there is no reason for worry for anyone. "The government is fully geared up to meet any situation and adequate quantity of medicines; masks and other material are available with the Health Department".
He said that doctors and para-medics have been asked to monitor the situation closely and give a daily media briefing of the situation.
He appreciated the efforts of the doctors and para-medics associated in treating the patients, adding that the government would explore possibilities to give special incentives/rewards to all such doctors and para-medics who are associated with the Swine Flu control process and performing duties in odd hours to check infection of this dreaded virus.
