NAPLES, FL, August 12, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A Comprehensive Guide On How To Tarp A Roof

When you've got a leaky roof, you need to act fast to prevent serious damage to your home. With the advice of Tarpaflex, the leading providers of tarps online, you'll be well prepared to tackle the drips quickly and effectively.

Whether it is caused by wear and tear over the years or by severe weather conditions, a leaking roof can cause major problem for your home. Not only will moisture play havoc with wall decorations, it can also trigger a safety issue if it gets too close to electrical wiring. Moisture is also responsible for weakening the structure of the roof by seeping in and causing materials to rot. Over time the structure can deteriorate and may even collapse altogether.

Bob Page, CEO of Tarpaflex said, "It's essential that in situations like these, you know what to do and how to act fast. At Tarpaflex we understand that not everybody is DIY-savvy, but with our simple guide, it is straightforward."

"As the job carries such responsibility, it is only fair to invest in a durable tarpaulin. Tarpaflex stocks a range of heavy duty tarps that will do the job perfectly and seal the leak until you can get a professional in to assess the situation."

The firm's range of tear proof and waterproof tarps are designed to withhold the weather keep the roof and structure well-protected. So how do you fit this tarp?

Mr Page added, "Keep all of the necessary tools together, in a tool belt if possible. You will need a hammer, some nails, a knife, safety glass and 2x4 planks of wood along with a ladder. Start by identifying areas of damage and weakness, and roll out the tarp so that it covers the damaged areas and extends from the edge of the roof, which is called the eaves, to the peak. The tarp should also cover four feet over both ends.

"The next step involves a 2x4 plank, which should be two feet longer than the width of the tarp. Wrap the end of the tarp around the plank wand fix with nails. Nail another plank on top of the tarp, so that the tarp is held firm between the two lengths of wood."

After this, it is important to secure the tarp carefully, so place the secure end on the eaves line and then drape the tarp over the ridge. Repeat the securing method as you did with the other side of the roof, and then use the additional strips of wood to secure the other side of the tarp.

Mr Page added, "It may seem complicated at first, but it is something that will secure your home when you need it the most. With our wide range of tarps covering everything from heavy duty tarps to blue poly tarps, you can be sure that you are giving your home the best protection."About Tarpaflex US LLC
