Wealth Enhancement Group Makes a $10,000 Donation Benefiting Second Harvest Heartland

MINNEAPOLIS - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Wealth Enhancement Group takes a stand this year for the 1 in 8 Americans that don't have enough food.1 This year, Wealth Enhancement Group is taking it back to the basics - back to their clients and community. Wealth Enhancement Group donates $10,000 to Second Harvest Heartland. With over 70 employees in their metro area offices, the financial planning firm has also been participating in a weeklong company food drive to supplement their monetary donation.

Wealth Enhancement Group will be hosting their client appreciation event on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. at the International Market Square. With over 500 people expected in attendance, clients are asked to bring a non perishable food item supporting the Upper Midwest's largest hunger-relief organization. Their will also be a silent auction with all proceeds benefiting Second Harvest Heartland.

"In difficult economic times, our community needs our help more than ever," says CEO Jeff Dekko. In lieu of their annual client party, Wealth Enhancement Group has decided to put on an event benefiting Second Harvest Heartland. Bruce Helmer, President of Wealth Enhancement Group, stated "Wealth Enhancement Group is ecstatic to have this opportunity to be able to give back to the community. We know in this difficult economic time it's important to focus on the basics and what Wealth Enhancement Group was founded on, and that is to put our clients and community first."

Second Harvest Heartland's mission is to end hunger through community partnerships. They distribute more than 41 million pounds of food and grocery products annually to 960 food shelves, soup kitchens, shelters and programs in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Each year, low-income Minnesotans miss a staggering 125 million meals. That's 10 missed meals a month for every struggling child, adult or senior.
