The Premiere Washington DC Antiques Art & Jewelry Show Hosts Free Lecture and Book Signing with Judith Miller, Author of Chairs
WASHINGTON - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The
Premiere Washington DC Antiques Art & Jewelry Show is excited to
host a free lecture and book signing of Chairs (Octopus, October
2009 publication date), the latest book by international antiques
expert Judith Miller, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at The
Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
Judith's book celebrates her passion for chairs by examining more than
100 of her favorite chairs, reflecting upon their iconic status,
designers, historical facts, overall style, design details and ergonomic
properties. The chairs have been specially photographed on location and
are featured in chronological order, ranging from early antiques such as
the 1680 Windsor Chair and the 1740 Louis XV Chaise Lounge, to modern
day collectibles such as Marc Newson's 1988 "Embryo" and Tom Dixon's
2007 "Wingback." Chairs represents nearly 400 years of great
seating celebrated for its style, status, craft and art.

centuries; fine American and European silver; highly sought 19th
and 20th century art glass such as Tiffany, Lalique, Galle
and many others.
Show hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 11 a.m.
to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October
17, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2009. Tickets can be

for a one-time admission of $15 valid for all four days of the show. A
Preview Party benefitting the Corcoran Gallery of Art will be held the
evening of Wednesday, October 14 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
