Giant Flying Squid Invade The Waters Off San Diego

I was born in San Francisco, and "It Came From Beneath the Sea" a 1955 horror flick about a giant squid -- clinging onto the Golden Gate Bridge and using its tentacle to crush hapless people gave me nightmares as a young boy.

The only thing worse than watching that campy horror movie is being forced to eat squid. I've only eaten calamari once, and you couldn't bribe me with a million dollars to eat that rubbery tasteless and barely edible monster again.

Squid are terrifying when they are in the water, but when jumbo squid fly out of the water they will make the bravest man check to see if he needs to change his drawers.

Thousands of these monsters have invaded the waters off San Diego, I love that city but I will never visit it again until all of the dreadful invaders leave.

Scientists don't know why the squid have invaded the waters off the Southern California coast, and they have no idea when the monstrosities will leave.

I'm not an egghead scientist, but I think global warming may have brought this plague of Biblical proportions to San Diego.

I pity the residents of San Diego, they are living a nightmare. Squid don't belong on a dinner plate, or flying overhead -- I wish they would stay under the sea, where they belong.
