It is The Story That Makes General Hospital Interesting Not The Couple
To Whom It May Concern, I have read your recent article, General Hospital Ratings Decline to a New Low
, and I find myself having to ask some serious questions.
Have you gone back and seen how good the ratings were back in 2005 and 2004 when the couples and stories then brought in higher ratings? In 2006 is when the ratings started to go down. When General Hospital had to destroy three couples to make one couple is when some people started to get mad. When characters had to be changed to fit a story that was trying to written for those characters/couples they started to put together in 2006.
Now I am a firm believer in the idea, it is the STORY that makes a show interesting NOT the COUPLE. Any couple that it takes ten years to get together, and they that said couple has the same conversation over and over and over again, makes their story boring and not enjoyable to watch. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course.
It is after all just a TV show. I just find it funny when people start blaming one or two couples for the ratings. Almost all the soaps on ABC are going down. It is not just General Hospital. GH still holds higher ratings then AMC and OLTL nine times out of ten. General Hospital will get better when the writing starts to pick up. It is NOT the couples that make the show, IT is the writings.
This just MY OPINION everyone is entitled to their own, but might I suggest you go back and look at the rating and everything people were saying in 2004 and 2005 before couples were destroyed all for one couple, and characters were re-written. You might find that you don't have all the facts. Also your article might actually make since to a lot more people.
Again just my opinion.
