ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Boddie-Noell Enterprises Chief Marketing Officer Jerry Allsbrook has been elected to the Special Olympics Virginia Board of Directors for a three-year term. Boddie-Noell Enterprises is the largest Hardee's franchise operator in the United States.

"For more than 20 years, there has been Boddie-Noell representation on the Board of Directors of Special Olympics Virginia," said Rick Jeffrey, president of Special Olympics Virginia. "Jerry brings a level of executive leadership, creative marketing skills and an enthusiastic love of people and sports that will make him an asset to our Board."

Jeffrey said that in addition to the financial, in-kind and volunteer support that Boddie-Noell and Hardee's provide, they are also partners in what Special Olympics Virginia calls Training for Life.

"Boddie-Noell and Hardee's employ people with intellectual disabilities, some of whom are Special Olympics athletes, providing a welcome environment in the workplace where a person with an intellectual disability can succeed and thrive," said Jeffrey. "When Boddie-Noell Enterprises and Hardee's say, We Believe in People, they mean it!"

Allsbrook, who is also a member of Boddie-Noell's Senior Leadership Team, has strategic marketing responsibility for Boddie-Noell's restaurant brands. These include the 341 Hardee's restaurant locations across N.C., Va., Ky. and S.C.

"I'm excited and honored to be elected to this board," said Allsbrook. "Boddie-Noell has a longstanding and unique partnership with the Special Olympics Virginia, and I look forward to carrying on this tradition and finding new innovative ways Boddie-Noell and Hardee's can support this organization's mission."

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
