Lorna Miser, knitter, designer and local Folsom author was at Borders Books in Folsom California for her Book Signing event on Saturday. FolsomLocalNews.com was there to record the event and a large group of knitters attended, knitting up a storm in the store.
Lorna's book was inspired by the "wonderful different people who crossed through my life because of knitting". Lorna was wearing a beautiful green lace shawl, inspired by her grandma, Helen, who loved to knit lace.
Every other story in the book is about someone she met because of her knitting. She said "Some of them are fun stories, some are silly, some people changed my life, and some I knew for 10 minutes, in an airport."
Lorna shares twenty-four of her most memorable stories, each one inspiring a beautiful knitting project. The patterns in the book are all beautiful and the knitted items were all on display.
Knitters from various knitting groups attended, knitting their own projects, meeting each other and generally having a good time.
Lorna said, "Borders are great, they really helped me set up my books and Amber organized everything."
