Is There Hope for General Hospital?

General Hospital Ratings Decline to a New Low

Thank you for posting this in your newsletter, you've written all my thoughts and frustrations on one article. As a General Hospital fan and viewer for over 25 years, since I was a child, I have never been more frustrated with this show than at this moment. And trust me, I have let them know about it! I have written and phoned to no avail for months now.

I watched it for many years on its ups and downs, but I watched it because I was a loyal fan and committed to these characters, even though I did not agree with some of the storylines. I especially never understood why they continued to trash or rip apart the pairing of Elizabeth and Jason, but I watched it anyways because of the other long standing characters with GH (Luke and Laura, The Quartermaines, etc.), and because I was invested in these beloved characters.

I truly fell in love with the re-pairing of Jason and Elizabeth back in 2006-07 and their lovely and romantic storyline which led to having a child together. These two have the best chemistry I have ever seen onscreen, and yes I am comparing them to even the great Luke and Laura. Because Jason and Elizabeth's story seemed more grounded, less fairytale the previous mentioned legendary pair.

I also enjoyed Sonny and Kate's relationship and love story, they also played well together, I even preferred this relationship than the one that he had with Carly, which became boring and frustrating to me after a while.

And I must say that I simply HATE this new found friendship that Jason has with Sam, this is absolutely ridiculous and stupid! Every time I see these two together they seem unnatural and forced; I have to change the channel, because I cannot stomach watching them. All I see when I see these two is him telling her that he is going to kill her if she does anything to hurt Liz or his son.

In fact sometimes I find myself taking it off completely, because it is so awful to watch: Maxie and Spinelli are awful and stupid, Sonny and Claudia get on my nerves, Liz and her forced pairings with Nik/Lucky comes across as forced and unbelievable, Nik and Rebecca have no chemistry whatsoever and is painful to watch (he was better paired with Courtney), I don't care about Carly and Jax anymore and Robin and Patrick are nice but they aren't enough to keep me interested, and the list goes on and on.

The last straw for me to boycott and stop watching this soap forever is if Jason with Sam reunites romantically, that would be so revolting and disrespectful in so many ways that you can't imagine.

I thank you so much for your article and hopefully ABC/Disney will get the hint or not.
