Iron Chef BBQ Competition Seeking Teams For Event Next Thursday

Organizers are looking for a few more teams to fill the field at an Iron Chef BBQ competition on Thursday, July 16 at the Folsom Thursday Night Marketplace.
If you have not attended the Marketplace this year, the event has undergone a facelift, with great crowds each night, a wonderful variety of street vendors and Sutter Street Merchants, great entertainment and many varied activities featured, as each night features it's own special theme. The theme for July 16 is "Backyard BBQ Night".
Registration can be found on the website at www.folsomtnm.com. The cost per team is only $25. The competition is loosely based on the Iron Chef competition featured on the Food Network. Each team will have one hour to utilize their barbeque to prepare an appetizer, main course and dessert, all with a "secret" ingredient that they will be told about the night before. In addition, each team will be required to pepare a drink that also features the secret ingredient.
Teams are required to be setup by 5:30 p.m. in the Powerhouse Pub Parking Lot and the competition takes place from 6:15-7:15 p.m. None of the food or drink can be prepared beforehand. Teams are judged on creativity, taste, presentation and use of the "secret" ingredient.
Only 8 teams can register and there are separate categories for: Restaurants, Businesses, Organizations and Families.
