W. John Short Named President of NutraCea

PHOENIX , July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NutraCea (OTC: NTRZ), a world leader in stabilized rice bran (SRB) nutrient research and technology, today announced that W. John Short, 60, has been appointed President of the company, effective July 6, 2009. Short will report to Interim CEO James C. Lintzenich and be responsible for the operations of the Company.

Short brings over 25 years experience to this newly created position having held senior positions with consumer products and financial services businesses inNorth America,South America,Asia andEurope including President & COO ofHong Kong-based Esprit Far East Ltd., CEO ofDusseldorf-based Esprit Europe, CEO ofSan Francisco-based global licensing company Esprit International, CEO/President & COO of Joe Boxer, Inc. and EVP North America ofMiami based Sunglass Hut International where he was responsible for 2,000 retail stores and 7,000 employees. Short also spent over a decade in corporate banking, government lending and financial institutions lending with Citibank inNew York,Venezuela,Ecuador andHong Kong.
