PITTSBURGH , July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Foundation Radiology Group (FRG), headquartered in downtown Pittsburgh , is pleased to announce its recent accreditation by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

The JCAHO evaluates over 15,000 healthcare organizations and programs nationally, including hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories, and rehabilitation centers. Foundation Radiology is the first diagnostic hospital-based radiology organization to receive this accreditation.

To achieve this accreditation, FRG passed an independent audit of their performance as healthcare providers against national quality and safety requirements. As a Joint Commission-certified organization, FRG has demonstrated that they meet the highest standards in their field. FRG can now display the Joint Commission's gold seal, which is a visible commitment to providing their clients and partners the absolute highest level of quality care.

"Above all, the national standards are intended to stimulate continuous, systematic and organization-wide improvement in an organization's performance and the outcomes of care," says Mark Pelletier, R.N., M.S., executive director, Hospital Programs, Accreditation and Certification Services, The Joint Commission. "The community should be proud that Foundation Radiology Group is focusing on the most challenging goal -- to continuously raise quality and safety to higher levels."

"We are extremely pleased to be the first in our field to receive the JCAHO accreditation," says Dr. Brandon Chan, CEO, Foundation Radiology Group. "We will proudly display the gold seal and will strive to continually improve our services for both our customers and partners.
